S.D. Egg Production Totals Over 54 Million

All layers in South Dakota during August 2016 totaled 2.37 million, down from 1.55 million the previous year, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service.
South Dakota egg production during August totaled 54.1 million eggs, up from 39.3 million in 2015.
August egg production per 100 layers was 2,281 eggs, compared to 2,544 eggs in 2015.
