NACAA Recognizes Climatologist Edwards

Laura Edwards, Acting State Climatologist and SDSU Extension Climate Field Specialist recently received the 2016 Achievement Award from the National Association of County Agriculture Agents during their Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement
Conference held in Little Rock, Ark.
This award is given to Agents with 10 years or less of service in Cooperative Extension and have exhibited excellence in the field of Extension Education. This award is only presented to 2 percent of SDSU Extension staff in South Dakota each year.
Edwards joined SDSU Extension in 2011 and serves as the Acting State Climatologist and SDSU Extension Climate Field Specialist. She is based out of the SDSU Extension Regional Center in Aberdeen. Her expertise is in climate, drought monitoring and
climate and agriculture interactions. Edwards works with both agronomy and livestock systems. She has been involved in several regional climate and agriculture programs.
