SDDOT Seeks Input on I-90 Exit 61-67 Corridor Study
South Dakota Ag Connection - 07/25/2016
The South Dakota Department of Transportation, in collaboration with the Rapid City Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the city of Box Elder, will hold a public open house on July 26 to inform area residents on the beginning of a corridor study
for the following roadway corridor: I-90 from Exit 61 (Elk Vale Road) to Exit 67 (Liberty Boulevard / EAFB Main Gate)
This open house public meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on July 26 at the Black Hills University -- Rapid City Building, 4300 Cheyenne Boulevard in Rapid City.
The purpose for the open house is to inform the public of the study's intent, to record any concerns the public may have along the study's corridor and to gather ideas to help determine the future look of the corridor, including the possible reconfiguration and/or
relocation of the Exit 63 (Box Elder / EAFB Commercial Gate) interchange. The study will address a full range of transportation options and issues, including pedestrian, bicycle, transit, freight and automobile.
For those who cannot attend the meeting or desire additional information on the study, information will be made available online a few days after the meeting at www.i90corridor61to67.com.
The open house will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the location indicated. A brief, summarizing presentation will be made at approximately 6:15 p.m. The open house will allow discussion with SDDOT, city, MPO and consultant staff. The opportunity to present
written comments will be provided. Written comments will be accepted until Aug. 9.
Notice is further given to individuals with disabilities that this public meeting is being held in a physically accessible place. Please notify the SDDOT ADA coordinator within 48 hours of the public meeting if you have special needs for which this agency will need
to make arrangements. The telephone number for making special arrangements is 605-773-3540 or 1-800-877-1113 (Telecommunication Relay Services for the Deaf).
