Layers, Egg Production Numbers in South Dakota All Down in February 2023 Compared to February 2022

All layers in South Dakota during February 2023 totaled 1.50 million, down from 1.88 million the previous year, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.
South Dakota egg production during February totaled 35.6 million eggs, down from 46.4 million in 2022. February egg production per 100 layers was 2,370 eggs, compared to 2,463 eggs in 2022.
