Does Regenerative Ag Work in Here?
South Dakota Ag Connection - 03/09/2022

Regenerative agriculture has gained attention as a way to build resiliency and ensure lasting profits. But what is it? And does it actually work in our region, with our environment and our soils?

Join in March 10 from 9 a.m. to noon to discuss with Dr. Jonathan Lundgren from Brandt, S.D., and Grant and Dawn Breitkreutz of Redwood Falls about their their experiences. Talk with producers at this free Sustainable Farming Association event. Registration is requested at

The event will be held at the Lincoln County VFW, 116 Saxon St., Ivanhoe, Minn.

Doors open at 9 a.m. with Dr. Lundgren speaking at 9:30 a.m. The Breitkreutzs speaking at 10:30, and the farmer panel on regenerative agriculture begins at 11:30 a.m.

Dr. Lundgren is an agroecologist, director of ECDYSIS Foundation, and CEO for Blue Dasher Farm. One of his priorities is to make science applicable to end-users, and he regularly interacts with the public and farmers regarding pest and farm management and insect biology.

The Breitkreutzes own Stoney Creek Farm where they have converted a conventional crop and cow/calf operation into a multi-enterprise regenerative family business over the past 20 years. Their overall goal is to heal the land, create a successful and enjoyable multi-generational family business, and ensure that future generations have a beautiful legacy to carry on the family farm.

Registration is free and requested in advance. Includes a locally sourced meal by Redwood River Farms.

This event is hosted in partnership between SFA and the Minnesota Soil Health Coalition, and is sponsored in part by Millborn Seeds, Redwood River Farms, and the Coteau Ridge Chapter of SFA.
