Eagle Scout Plants Trees Along Rapid Creek
South Dakota Ag Connection - 10/26/2016

Eagle Scout John Thorstenson of Troop 72 planted 48 trees and 150 shrubs in the Founders Park area of Rapid Creek.

The new trees and shrubs replace vegetation lost to storm damage and provide shade to keep water temperatures cooler for trout during summer months.

The project was coordinated with Rapid City urban forester, Andy Bernard. Funding and assistance was provided by Black Hills Fly Fishers and South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks.
